- Axis or stalk of strobilus naked below; concealed above by the spirally arranged, short-stalked sporangia. Sporangia tangentially extended, 3–8 mm. across, and about 2 mm. thick; dehiscence by a slit running along the convex upper edge; spores about 75 μ.
