- Diagnosis
- Naked axes with three orders of pseudomonopodial branches; the first-order axes upright, the second- and third-order axes distantly spaced and helically arranged. Occasionally, the base of the secondorder axis bearing a third-order one, while the base of the third-order axis with a sterile or fertile ultimate appendage. Fertile appendages occurring in a helix and at wide angles upon the third-order axes. Fertile appendages isotomous several times, terminating in two clusters of paired and fusiform sporangia. Sterile appendages dichotomous, distally recurved.
