Diagnosis
Multiple infructescence with 12, but up to 30 berries; fruits united to central vascularized axis occupying central portion of infructescence, through pedicels; berries small, subglobose, with six unilocular carpels, each with single campylotropous ovule/seed, with single vascular bundle; pericarp composed of three layers, external and internal ones composed of palisade, middle layer of polyhedral cells; seeds with two integumentary layers, external layer with outer zone of single thick-walled cells forming a palisade, inner zone composed of thin-walled rectangular/cylindrical cells, internal layer composed of single palisade; single-layered nucellus with thin-walled cells; embryonic reserve tissue (perisperm?) with polyhedral thin-walled cells; curved dicotyledonous embryo.
