- Diagnosis
- Leaves are ovate to elliptic, unlobed, and pinnately veined, with the petiole markedly swollen near the insertion point, a basally thickened midvein, and toothed margins. Secondary veins are weakly brochidodromous to eucamptodromous and irregularly spaced, with the basal pair(s) acute. Exterior tertiary veins are weakly looped. Teeth are large, irregularly spaced and sized, and often compound; principal veins are medial and terminate in a large apical gland.
