- Plant of axial organization. Bulk of presumed vegetative tissues composed of wide unbranched tubes, aligned in parallel, with smooth walls of uniform thickness surrounded by narrower branched convolute filaments and occasional branched internally thickened tubes and wider filaments: localized areas (medullary spots) composed of frequently branched, very narrow, smooth walled tubes, branched internally thickened tubes and rare narrow filaments, none of which show preferred orientation.
