- Diagnosis
- Growth rings indistinct, wood diffuse porous; vessels solitary and in radial multiples of two (to four), less than 100 mm in diameter; perforation plates exclusively simple. Intervessel pits alternate; vessel-ray parenchyma pits with reduced borders and horizontally elongate; fibers nonseptate; axial parenchyma scanty paratracheal; wide multiseriate rays present without uniseriate margins. Idioblasts in the rays.
