- Diagnosis
- Ferns with isotonic dichotomous branching and protostelic stems bearing helically arranged fronds and diarch adventitious roots. Cortex of the stem divided into the sclerenchymatous outer part and parenchymatous inner part. Metaxylem tracheid walls of the stem possessing uniseriate scalariform thickenings. Tracheid diameter of the petiolar trace and petiole conspicuously smaller than that of the stem. Xylem strand of the rachis with two protoxylem groups on the adaxial side.
