- Diagnosis
- Cylindrical or club-shaped thallus with densely set whorls, unfertile whorls can also be present. The fertile whorls consist of densely arranged cylindrical primary laterals each giving a second whorl segment: tufts of trochophorous secondary laterals and a fertile ampulla situated in the center of the tuft. Surface of the calcareous sheet indentated.
