- Diffuse porous; vessels mostly solitary, occasionally
in radial multiples and rarely in clusters; small and moderately
numerous; intervessel pits small-to-medium, bordered and alternate;
rays homocellular, composed of procumbent cells; mostly
biseriate, occasionally uniseriate; rays storied; axial parenchyma
apotracheal in marginal bands, aliform to confluent, to predominantly
banded; fibers non-septate; prismatic crystals t in chambered
axial parenchyma cells with one crystal per chamber, but with no
crystals in the ray cells.
