- Radially to bilaterally symmetrical synangia
composed of pendant and beaked sporangia.
Synangia interconnected in clusters of two or
three. Sporangia connate proximally forming
common chamber, separate distally, each with
dehiscence slit on inner face near tip. Sporangia
walls with fiberlike subepidermal layer. Interconnecting
vascular tissue extending at least
midway to tip of sporangia. Pollen small, radial,
trilete with alveolate exine.
