- Diagnosis
- Fruit a samara with one lateral wing, pedicellate with a prominent scar at junction of pedicel with the fruit body. Not schizocarpic (no scar of detachment). Style or style remnant persistent, sometimes darkly pigmented, positioned on the upper wing margin close to the endocarp. Fruit unilocular
and single seeded. Endocarp thin, elliptical, bladderlike, with its long axis at an angle of 127–207 to the long axis of the wing. Seed elliptical, loose within a somewhat larger locule. Wing with fine, somewhat arching, occasionally dichotomizing, subparallel veins mostly of one order, some that extend to the stylar region and others extending to the lower and distal margins of the wing. A fine fimbrial vein present along the wing margin.
