- Ovulate cones with slender axis about 2-3 mm thick at base, bearing
ovuliferous scales which narrow at point of attachment, flaring into a distal portion that is abruptly bent towards the distal end of the cone, distal portion a five-lobed structure 5-6 × 5-6 mm; lobes rounded, roughly equal in
size, apparently woody. Subtending bract apparently fused to the abaxial surface of the cone scale, shorter than the scale, with an acute, free tip. Three seeds are borne on the adaxial surface of the scale in positions correspondmg to the three median lobes.
