- Ovulate cone, 2-4 cm wide, with helically arranged bracts and axillary ovuliferous scales; bracts constricted at base, expanded abruptly toward the middle, and tapering to a rounded point distally; scale spatulate, with woody texture, bearing two seeds on the adaxial face; seeds laterally flattened, with an eccentrically situated micropyle directed toward the cone axis.
