- Leaves oblong, 8-20 cm long (may be to 30 cm), 3,5-7 cm to 14-16 cm wide, usually unequilateral, apex acute to obtuse, base cuneate, obtuse or slightly cordate, often asymmetrical; margin irregularly dentate to undulato-dentate, with obtuse teeth and wide sinuses, the base mostly entire; venation pinnate, craspedodromous or pseudocraspedodromous; midvein strong, often very thick, petiole to 3 cm in length; secondaries 14-16 pairs, subparallel, mostly giving off some branches toward the margin, ending in teeth or in sinuses between them. Tertiaries frequent, forming scalariform anastomoses, make loops near the margin.
