- Flower perfect with a perianth composed of 16 uniform, separate, helically arranged, fleshy tepals, a central ring of 12 helically arranged
stamens with tetrasporangiate anthers possessing extended apical connectives and a pistil with a single short, narrow style and minute
stigma. The bases of the short, broad 3-veined filaments are composed of vacuolated parenchyma and surrounded by white tissue.
