- Thallus claviform to globular, euspondyl,
vesiculifer. Central cavity, spherical, broad. Laterals ovoid to
claviform, perpendicular to the inner and outer surfaces, numerous
and separated by a thin interpore calcification recrystallized in a
yellowish neomicrosparite. Outer diameter (D) = 1,550–
2,000 mm; inner diameter (d) = 0.900–1,200 mm; wall thickness
(s) = 0.325–0.435 mm; width of laterals (= pores) = 0.100–0.200-
mm; width of interpores = 0.010–0.020 mm; number of laterals per
verticil = 23–26. The material illustrated by Kordé (1965) measures:
D = 2,100–2,800 mm; d = 1,100–1,700 mm; s = 0.500–0.550 mm;
n = 20–30.
