- Diagnosis
- Leaves linear, narrow and long; apex rounded, apiculate or acute; veins 3–5 per widest part. Leaves hypostomatic. Ordinary epidermal cells of the adaxial epidermis predominantly short, rarely elongated, quadrangular, in some cases polygonal; epidermal cells of the abaxial epidermis elongated, tetragonal in the nonstomatal bands, and elongated to short, tetra- or polygonal in the stomatal bands. The anticlinal cell walls of both leaf surfaces straight, periclinal walls smooth. Stomata arranged in not always clear bands. Subsidiary cellswith proximal papillae.
