Diagnosis
Mycelial colony foliicolous, dark brown; hyphae hyphopodiate, septate, thick-walled, straight to slightly sinuous, frequently with opposite branching at acute angle, bearing both appressoria and phialides; appressoria 2-celled, mostly alternate or sometimes opposite; stalk cells cylindrical to cuneate; head cells capitate, thick-walled, long, globose-elliptical or irregularly rounded, entire; phialides bottle-shaped with pointed and tapering apex, alternate, rarely mixed with appressoria; ascospore 4-celled, 3-septate; mycelial and perithecial setae absent.
