- Diagnosis
- Growth rings distinct, marked by slight change in the fibre cells size; vessels mostly solitary with occasional short radial multiples; intervessel pitting alternate; vessel-ray parenchyma pits with reduced borders and round to elliptical shape; vasicentric tracheids; septate fibers, 2–3 septa per fiber; axial parenchyma scanty paratracheal to vasicentric present; heterocellular rays with bodies composed of procumbent cells, usually with one marginal row of erect or square cells; radial canals over 200 μm in diameter, usually one per ray, located in the center of the rays.
