- Diagnosis
- Wood diffuse porous, nonstoried. Vessels solitary and in multiples of 2–3 and longer, mean tangential diameter 98 μm, with simple perforation plates; intervessel pits alternate, minute to medium, vestured; vessel-ray pits similar in size and shape to intervessel pits. Fibres mostly non-septate. Axial parenchyma irregularly aliform-confluent and banded. Rays mostly 1–3 seriate and homocellular. Crystals in axial parenchyma; silica bodies in rays and axial parenchyma.
