- Diagnosis
- Axes 3.5-4.0 mm wide, isotomously branching at 30°-50°. Successive branches, 3.0-4.2 mm apart. Distal sterile axes, about 1.8-2.2 mm wide at the branching point and tapering distally. Fertile axes, at least 5 cm long and 2.2-2.7 mm wide at base, branched, and tapering distally to about 1.6 mm wide. Sporangia dorsiventrally flattened, elongateelliptical in face view, 5.0-8.3 mm long (average 6.7 mm), 2.2-4.8 mm wide (average 3.0 mm) and about 1 mm thick. Stalks, very short, less than 1 mm long and about 0.3 mm wide. Sporangia, scattered spirally, and borne at various angles along axis. Intervals between sporangia, 1.5-6.0 mm long. Dehiscence line, along a narrow peripheral rim.
