- Oogonium coronulate, subspherical, small, ranging from 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm in height, slightly higher than wide or with subequal diameters, greatest transverse diameter about mid-height. Base and summit horizontally truncate, summit more deeply than base. Ridges cellular, nine, completing about a fourth turn around the oogonium, equatorial angle 30° to 35°. The ridges are of uniform width from base to summit, comparatively broad, very convex, but occasionally each has a shallow, narrow median groove. Intercellular furrows narrow and deep. Coronula cells nine, deeply concave on outer surface, corresponding in position with the cellular ridges and forming an erect to suberect parapet-like ring around the large summit orifice, the inner surface of the coronula ring constituting a broad funnel to the opening. Nature of the oospore membrane unknown.
