- Diagnosis
- Aerial part of plant consisting of presumably erect, smooth axes 0.5–0.06 mm wide with occasional dichotomous branching. Terminal sporangia are circular to elliptical in outline, with subtending axes parallel-sided or increasing slightly in diameter immediately below the sporangium. Forma α includes sporangia circular in outline, 0.95–0.5 mm high and 0.9 to 0.4 mm wide. Forma β–sporangia ranging between elliptical, hemispherical, and irregular in outline, 1.3–0.3 mm high and 1.77 to 0.35 mm wide.
