- Diagnosis
- Leaves narrow elliptic, lanceolate, rarely
oblanceolate or narrow oblong; base symmetrical, apex
attenuate; ratio length/width (2,5) 2,7 - >3,7, more narrow
than Fagus leaves. Margin uniserrate; teeth small, acute
to obtuse. Venation pinnate, 10-14 secondary veins,
craspedodromous; straightly (not curved upwards) terminating
in teeth; the typical Quercus vein is present,
branching-off upwards from each secondary vein near
the margin of leaf.
