- Diagnosis
- Inflated receptacle with ovoid fruit attached; fruit 1.1 to 1.4 cm in diameter,
marked by irregular concentric rings; fruit either recessed into the receptacle or raised slightly above it on a short, slender peduncle; receptacle as much as 1.5 cm across at widest point, expanding from a stem 4 mm wide; upper part of the receptacle longitudinally ridged, whole surface bearing a faint striation with numerous longitudinally elongate pits as much as 1 mm long, possibly representing hairs, glands, or lenticels.
