Diagnosis
Leaves narrow elliptic to ovate-lanceolate; l 7 to 12 cm, w 3.2 cm; margin with very fine crenulations or serrulations at intervals of 1.5 to 3 mm; these bear a darkened, glandular area on their upper border; margin becoming entire toward leaf base; apex acute; base broadly cuneate and occasionally slightly asymmetric; petiole stout, about 1.3 cm long and somewhat expanded toward its base; midvein stout with eight to nine alternate to subopposite secondaries arising from it at an angle of approximately 60°; secondaries brochidodromous, partly obscured by their immersion in the leaf substance; tertiary venation and areolation obsolete; surface of leaf impression wrinkled subparallel to the midvein.
