- Diagnosis
- Vessel porosity diffuses; tree-ring boundaries distinct due to the presence of 1–4 rows of marginal type axial parenchyma cells. Vessel arrangement
generally solitary and 2–3 vessels in radial multiples. Vessels almost oval and circular, tangential and radial diameters of vessel elements 100–200 µm, and vessels per square mm are 5–20. Types of axial parenchyma sparse paratracheal, diffuse, and in marginal bands with 1–4 rows of parenchyma cells. The rays uni- to triseriate, heterocellular. Oil and mucilage cells in the margins and inside the rays, and are found together with the axial
parenchyma. Shape of oil and mucilage cells generally similar to ray cells, small as ray cells or slightly wider. Septate fibers present. Pits on vessel walls 7–10 µm and alternate. Prismatic crystals within ray cells. Perforation
plates simple. Vessel elements clearly storied.
