Diagnosis
Thallus is fusiform to lemon-shaped in longitudinal section. Cells are square to rectangular and are arranged concentrically around the attachment area in a regular grid-like pattern. Wall is composed of light-colored yellow or brown tinted calcite. Recrystallization has altered the original wall structure and, combined with sparry infilling, has partly obliterated cell shape and arrangement.
