- Diagnosis
- Thallus is fusiform to
lemon-shaped in longitudinal section. Cells are
square to rectangular and are arranged concentrically
around the attachment area in a
regular grid-like pattern. Wall is composed of
light-colored yellow or brown tinted calcite.
Recrystallization has altered the original wall
structure and, combined with sparry infilling,
has partly obliterated cell shape and arrangement.
