- Diagnosis
- Pedunculate infructescence of umbellasters borne oppositely to suboppositely to alternately on the axis or axes. Umbellasters of three, fi ve, or seven pedicellate capsules. Capsules cupular (slightly urceolate, globose) in shape, hypanthium striate or unornamented. Disk level, occurring at
or slightly below the level of the capsule rim. Capsule valves five or six, at the level of the disk when closed. Capsule columella present.
