- Diagnosis
- Elongated rhizomes (length about 7 cm) with prominent crusts of vertical stalks (diameter ca. 2 cm); diaphragma with many small canals and lateral bundles; in cross section centrally spongy tissue smallcelled parechymatous tissue laterally, with centrally lying bundles running longitudinal; girdles with nodia and internodia near by near, longitudinally striated surface of rhizome; side buds sprouted and broken away; common stigmata of broken roots (concentric rings of a double stereomsheath).
