- Indistinct growth rings, diffuse porous
wood; vessels solitary and in radial multiples of 2 – 3 (4), simple
perforation plates; alternate, intervessel pits with polygonal
outlines, vessel-ray parenchyma pits of two sizes with reduced
borders, circular; axial parenchyma vasicentric and scanty paratracheal
and apotracheal diffuse; homocellular rays, uniseriate
and 2 – 3-seriate; nonseptate libriform fi bers.
