Diagnosis
The valve structure is identical with the above mentioned description of the genus. Valve diameter 3-15 um, diameter of the auxospores 12-15 um, height of the mantle inclusive of collum 2-4 um, areolae on the disci and on the transversal rows of the mantle 14-16/10 um, just as many spines marginally on the disci, each longitudinal rib of the mantle with a linking spine, 24-32 ribs/10 um connected with the valve girdle.
