- Diagnosis
- Plant small. Naked erect axes, 0.7–1.4 mm wide, with basal K- or H-shaped and upper isotomous branching at acute angle. Spikes consisting of three to 13 sporangia, 7.4–17.6 mm long and 3.7–4.5 mm wide. Sporangial arrangement roughly helical or irregular, generating two or three vertical rows. Sporangia wedge shaped in face view, 2.5–4.5 mm high, and 3.1–4.7 mm wide, with protuberant base. Each sporangium attached by a short stalk at an acute angle on the axis. Stalks 0.9–1.5 mm long and 0.9–2.1 mm wide, with increase in width after departure from the axis. Sporangia dehisce along a pronounced thickened border.
