- Peltate discs of umbrella-like shape with central stalk and margins considerably curved downward formed the seed-including capsule. Outer surface of the fructification covered by smooth radial ribs corresponding to seed position. Surface of marginal part of umbrella is smooth or bears concentric folds. Each fructification bears 14—16 ovules, disposed around the central stalk. Since the umbrella can be asymmetrical, the seeds of one side could be undeveloped.
