- Growth rings distinct, undulating; vessels small to medium (tangential diameter 40–208m, radial diameter 56–250m), solitary as well as radial multiples of 2–6 (2–3), 10–15mm2; inter-vessel pits small, alternate, bordered; parenchyma paratracheal and apotracheal; paratracheal
parenchyma scanty, sometimes forming a 1–2 seriate, incomplete sheath around the vessels; apotracheal parenchyma diffuse and sparse; xylem rays 1–3 seriate, mostly biseriate, 8–40 cells and 60–700min length, 10–12 rays per mm, weakly heterogeneous composed of mostly procumbent cells; fibers thickwalled, poorly septate.
