- Diagnosis
- Leaf elliptic with a dentate margin and an acute, apiculate apex; the dentations occurring as small, glandular protuberences at widely separated intervals; texture coriaceous; the lack of a base makes it impossible to tell if the leaf is pinnate or merely imperfectly actinodromous. Midvein thick and straight, becoming thin and zigzag near the apex; secondaries diverging at approximately 45°; course irregular; sending a weak loop to the superadjacent secondary and a branch to the dentations; tertiaries random or very weakly percurrent; higher order venation very widely spaced and randomly reticulate; venation above fifth order and areolation not preserved.
