Diagnosis
Leaves linear, entire-margined and gradually narrow to wedge-shaped base. Each leaf has 13 veins, which dichotomize near leaf base and then run parallel to its margin. Leaves amphistomatic. Non-stomatal band cells of lower epidermis short quadrangular, isodiametric with straight, usually uniformly thickened anticlinal walls; |periclinal walls with small flat papilla. Stomatal band cells of lower epidermis isodiametric quadrangular and polygonal with straight anticlinal walls and small flat papillae on periclinal walls. Some cells bear 2–3 papillae or longitudinal cuticular ridge. Stomatal complexes rounded or broadly oval, incompletely dicyclic. Guard cells lightly sunken and surrounded by 5–6 subsidiary cells, which do not differ from ordinary cells in degree of cutinization and bear well-developed proximal papillae.
