- Diagnosis
- Secondary xylem of the morphogenus Baieroxylon GREGUSS with a juvenile wood structure of branch or stem, growth layers indistinct, boundaries only marked of 2–3 small tracheids and broadened rays, in transverse wood section rows of various large tracheids directly lying side by sides, tracheid diameter small, mostly circular, on an average 45 μm in diameter, mostly septate, walls with helical thickenings, bordered pits on radial walls abietoid, standing in one row closely one upon another, ends of tracheids run arched, rays uniseriate, 1–9, mostly 2–6 cells high, cells on an average 22 μm high, in the cross-field 2–4 cupressoide pits, between tracheid walls and ray cells intercellular spaces.
