- Diagnosis
- Sterile main axes 7.5–12.0 mm wide. Sterile first-order axes 2.0–6.0 mm wide and up to 125.0 mm long. Second-order axes 0.6–1.5 mm wide and up to 120.0 mm long. Sterile main axes, first- and second-order axes bearing distinct linear spines that are sometimes dichotomous, 0.5–3.0 mm long and ca. 0.4 mm wide at base. Paired second-order axes possessing a common base, at angles of 60–90, occurring oppositely and decussately on first-order axes to form four vertical rows. Sterile ultimate appendages consisting of three to five dichotomous axes of 0.1–0.2-mm width and almost at right angles attached irregularly to first-order axes and alternately/suboppositely to second-order axes. Paired tips of ultimate appendages usually curving in opposite directions. Fertile ultimate appendages alternately arranged, with axes being 0.1–0.6 mm wide and isotomously branching three to five times to terminate in erect and paired sporangia. Ovoid sporangia 0.7–1.2 mm high and 0.3–0.5 mm wide. Primary xylem in lateral axis U shaped and radially five ribbed. Primary xylem in main axis dissecting into four V/U-shaped or straplike ribs nearly arranged in radial direction.
