- Diagnosis
- Rhizome sympodially branched, bearing tubers and fi liform adventitious roots. Leafy stems not sharply delimited from the rhizomatous part, slender, with one or a few pairs of cauline leaves and a solitary terminal fl ower. Leaves stipulate, basically ternate, pinnatisect or 3-lobed, the larger ones with additional proximal lobes. Flower small, actinomorphic, monochlamydeous, developing into a head of achenes, with tepals partly persistent at fruit. Achenes numerous, obovate, minutely mucronate. Seed descending from apical region of achene, anatropous with a distinct raphe.
