- Diagnosis
- Leaves lanceolate to obovate, with cuneate base and
rounded or emarginated apex; veins 10 per cminwidest part. Leaves
hypostomatic. Cells of upper epidermis elongate, tetragonal; cells of
lower epidermis elongate to short, tetra- or polygonal. Anticlinal cell
walls straight to undulate, periclinal walls commonly with a cuticular
ridge on both leaf surfaces. Stomata assembled in bands. Subsidiary
cells without papillae, rarely with proximal papillae.
