Diagnosis
Frond tripinnate. Phyllophore slightly flexuous, 3–6 mm wide, densely covered by small and large prickles, with a H-shaped xylem strand. All order of rachises of vegetative and fertile parts covered by prickles. Vegetative and fertile primary pinnae attached in pairs forming a quadriseriate arrangement, basally forked and covered with anadromous aphlebiae. Primary rachises straight, C-shaped xylem strand. Ultimate pinnae elongate-linear, from 2/3 gradually tapering towards a tip with rachis straight. The basal acroscopic aphlebia-like pinnules laminar, small, segmented into two to three laminar lobes with acute tips. Pinnules linear, with serrate margins. Adaxial cuticle of pinnules carry densely distributed papillae in intercostal fields only. Fertile primary pinnae biseriate, significantly different in size and form but with the same organization as vegetative ones. Primary rachis flattened, slightly cigar-shaped, 2–3 mm broad in a middle of pinnae length. Ultimate pinnae elongate-linear, more or less symmetrical. First acroscopic aphlebia-like pinnule of ultimate fertile pinna small, horn-like. Modified pinnules on adaxial side of ultimate rachis in two rows. Sporangia organized in clusters of 3–6 sporangia, terminated on vascularized soral stalk, arise in pairs from the abaxial side of the fertile ultimate rachis. Sporangia pear-shaped, short stalked, asymmetrical with multiseriate annulus, running median around the entire sporangium and consisting of strongly thickened cells. Small prickles distributed on ventral and dorsal sides of sporangia. In situ microspores with a circular to subtriangular amb. Proximal surface laevigate, distal surface laevigate to microgranulate and microverrucate.
