- Sample 108 in Mathiesen’s collection; no longer a hand specimen of this wood, having been cut into sixteen slides (ten transversal sections, two tangential, and three radial) and some fragments glued on to stubs MP419, MP434, and MP435.
- Diagnosis
- Sub-heteroxylous tracheidoxyl with marked growth-rings; tracheid tips acuminate or square, often associated with ray, sometimes several on one level; radial pitting araucarian uniseriate in narrow tracheids, of the mixed type in medium sized tracheids, scalariform in the widest tracheids; axial parenchyma present, often associated with ray; rays uni (bi, tri) seriate, heterogenous or homogenous; all ray cell elongated, with thin walls, tangential and transversal ones with numerous small pits (no Abietineentu¨pfelung), crossfields araucarioid.
