- Diagnosis
- Bennettitalean ovuliferous structure. Developing gynoecia spherical in outline, mature gynoecia ovoid in outline, circular in diameter, apically bluntly pointed. Central receptacle with densely packed ovules and interseminal
scales covering the entire structure except for the basal attachment point. Surface of mature gynoecia covered with numerous laterally fused hexagonal shields, 6–7 surrounding a micropylar tube, interseminal scales slender, long stalked, widened at the apical end, alternating with elongate oval ovaries with long micropylar tubes. Corona absent. Bracts not preserved.
