Diagnosis
Elongate primary axis bearing secondary fertile shoots 4.0–6.8 mm long and 2.2–4.5 mm wide, of oval general shape and different sizes, and attached obliquely to near perpendicular to the axis by a relatively narrow base or by a short peduncle. The shoots are positioned on the primary axis in a subopposite arrangement; they are lined with up to 50 sterile scales, helically arranged, and have fimbriate apices. Sterile scales >1.8 mm long with a maximum width of 1.2 mm, which are ovate to lanceolate-shaped, having acute, obtuse to rounded apices and cordate-like bases. Shoot apices terminated by several (?) pollen sacs, grouped in 4–5 clusters – each cluster composed of around 4–7 sacs, basally fused. (?)Pollen sacs elongate and narrow, having a linear to filiform-shape and a length up to 1.2 mm. Bracts absent.
