- Diagnosis
- Wood diffuse-porous. Growth rings distinct.
Vessels solitary or in radial multiples of 2–4, small to
large, in some cases forming clusters; perforations simple.
Parenchyma vasicentric, forming a 1–3 cell thick
sheath around the vessels; marginal parenchyma locally
present. Rays narrow to broad, 2–7 seriate and heterocellular,
1–2 rows of marginal upright cells present at
one or both ends. Fibres septate.
