The fossil-family name was proposed for rejection (Doweld in Taxon 62: 1350-1351. 2013) in favour of Vojnovskyaceae Neuburg (in Orlov, Osnovy Paleontol. [15]: 301. 4 Nov 1963), and accepted (cf Taxon 65: 384. 2016; Taxon 66: 479. 2017; Taxon 66: 1238. 2017).
