Lovellea wintonensis
Diagnosis
Flowers with cup-shaped hypanthium, bisexual, actinomorphic, and multipartite. Perianth composed of numerous tepals inserted on cup; inner members persistent, ovate, recurved or incurved, arranged in at least two series on the hypanthium rim. Androecium of two series of stamens on inner margin of floral cup. Stamens stalked, with basifixed bisporangiate, dithecal, introrse, valvate anthers; pollen disulcate, retitectate. Gynoecium of numerous spirally arranged carpels embedded in the hypanthium wall. Styles separate, long and eccentric; intermixed with unicellular hairs that arise from upper surface of hypanthium cup. Carpels each with a dorsal slit; seed solitary, laterally attached, embryo unknown. Carpellodes lacking.
