- Indistinct growth rings; vessels solitary
and in radial multiples of 2 – 4, simple perforation plates; alternate
intervessel pits, vessel-ray parenchyma pits very large of variable
form, oval to horizontally elongated with reduced borders; scanty paratracheal
parenchyma; grouped rays, homocellular and heterocellular
rays, oil/mucilage cells irregularly distributed in the rays;
septate and nonseptate fi bers.
