- Diagnosis
- Diffuse porous; growth rings usually absent occasionally present;
vessels mainly solitary, occasionally in radial multiples and in
clusters, minute to medium in diameter; very small intervessel
pitting,
alternate to opposite; vessel-ray pitting with distinct borders
similar to intervessel pits to rounded with reduced borders
and apparently simple; simple perforation plates; parenchyma-like
fibre bands alternating with ordinary fibres, non-septate and septate
fibres; wood parenchyma diffuse and scanty, paratracheal
vasicentric; 1–6 seriate rays, heterocellular and homocellular;
simple perforated ray cells present.
